Symptoms

The following registry value is removed after the XenDesktop Virtual Desktop Agent is uninstalled:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\ LoadAppInit_DLLs

Cause

The XenDesktop Virtual Desktop Agent uninstaller removes this key as part of the uninstallation process.

After uninstallation, only HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\ AppInit_DLLs remains.

Resolution

This registry value is only required on computers running windows Vista or later where there are other applications that use the AppInit_DLLs value.

Caution! This procedure requires you to edit the registry. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of the Registry Editor can be solved. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. Back up the registry before you edit it.

Create a new registry value (DWORD) and set the data to 1:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\LoadAppInit_DLLs
